Storyteller's Guide: "Remembering"

For these pieces I tried to be consistent in style with the Martyr illustrations which I really liked. These came out pretty good but not as nice as Martyr be it the subject matter or maybe I just wasn’t as into it as the first time around.  
 
I will tell you this: I’ll never pass up a chance to draw creepy Appalachian towns or townsfolk. My grandma lives in the Appalachians and I’ve been camping enough on the Blue Ridge to know what these sorts of places look like. I won’t go so far as to say the stereotypes are all but true – but Podunk towns are plentiful in some areas and they never fail to instill movie-fueled paranoia and foreboding in me or my friends. Camping in these areas is nothing less than harrowing –every noise in the woods is most assuredly a lunatic with an axe.
