The Faces Behind The Rott: "Artist"
The Guy Behind the Rott
Return to List
Steve Prescott began his dark descent into illustration at a very early age. Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, he cultivated a love for drawing since the days when diaper wearing was still acceptable. His parents, knowing no better, encouraged their little artist. Sheet after sheet of low-grade typing paper, restaurant place mats, the backs of electric bills, and the house walls were methodically covered in countless cars, airplanes, fish, and dinosaurs.
Art, in one form or another, continued to be the driving force for Steve through nerdy childhood and into geeky high school.
Destiny directed him to the Columbus College of Art & Design on a welcome scholarship . Being emersed in a world of art and other growing artists, he honed his artistic skills exponentially. Living on pizza and macaroni & cheese, Steve graduated with a BFA in Illustration. Stepping into a life of illustrating monsters and such while making a living at it was soon to follow.
Since then Steve has done astronomical amounts of work for gaming companies such as White Wolf, FASA, Fanpro, Wizards of the Coast, and Osseum.
Steve lives in Columbus, Ohio with his lovely wife Kelly and a assortment of delightful critters. He spends most of his time hermetically sealed in his stupendously messy studio drawing, inking, and painting. Upon excavating himself, Steve tends towards movies, books, hiking/walking the dog, building crap out of Legos, and general bouts of laziness.
